Description

The Green Gate, constructed in the 1560s, is the most representative among the Gdansk gates. Nowadays, it is the home of culture. Two main rooms of the building were adapted as exhibition halls and contain temporary exhibitions of historic and modern Polish and foreign art. The building also houses the Gdansk Gallery of Photography. Its collection, built up over the years, encompasses over 8,000 paper photos, negatives and reversal films with the oldest dating back to the 2nd half of the 19th century.
