Housed in the historic Old Town Hall—one of the most beautiful buildings in Gdańsk—the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre is an institution of exceptional importance on Poland’s cultural map. This historic site, which has witnessed the life of the city for centuries, now pulses with culture and creativity, serving as a space for meetings and dialogue. The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre in Gdańsk acts as a cultural hub, promoting the culture of Pomerania and collaborating with institutions from across the Baltic Sea region.

Its second location is St. John’s Centre, situated in the adapted Gothic Church of St. John. Since 1995, the Centre has been using this space, combining the functions of a concert hall, exhibition venue, and a setting for larger festivals and gala events. Thanks to its distinctive Gothic architecture and vast interior, the building frequently hosts symphonic concerts, international festivals (including classical music events and intercultural projects). The Centre is also responsible for the revitalization and adaptation projects of the site.

The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre is more than just a cultural institution. It is a place where artists, intellectuals, residents of the Tri-City area, visitors from across Poland, and international creators come together. Its spaces host concerts, exhibitions, festivals, debates, workshops, and numerous international projects. The institution connects art with education, local identity with a European perspective, and regional tradition with modern forms of expression. Its mission is to support creators, promote the heritage of Pomerania, and build bridges between the past and the future.

The Old Town Hall is not only a historic monument but also a place of vibrant activity. Every day offers something unique: a concert in a historic setting, an exhibition opening in the gallery, an author’s meeting, or a lecture.

The Baltic Sea Cultural Centre remains one of the key places where new initiatives are born, projects of both local and international scope are developed, and tradition meets modernity.
