Description

The Museum of Kashubian and Pomeranian Writing and Music in Wejherowo is housed in a 19th-century palace. Its collection consists of the most valuable historical written artefacts of Kashubian culture, Kashubian regional magazines, books and newspapers published in Pomerania, publications on Kashubian and Pomeranian culture and history. The Museum also has mementoes of the region’s artists and activists. The permanent exhibition presents traditional clothing with Kashubian embroidery and musical instruments such as the bazuna, burczybas and the devil’s fiddle. The library’s goal is to commemorate Prof. Gerard Labuda, to popularise information about him and the history of the Kashubian people. It serves to promote research, especially on history and culture.
